I don’t think I need to emphasize that 2020 has been a wild ride. I think every one of us knows that truth. We all had our ups and downs this year but now the year is closing out and I think many of us are looking to 2021 with high hopes.
Yes, 2020 has come and gone with many struggles, but it also came with many triumphs and victories. Today, I choose to look back on 2020 and focus on all the good that has happened.
For me, my first triumph was taking my photography to the next level by making it official with an LLC. Thats right, I am the proud owner of Laney Logan Photography LLC. It feels so good to be able to say I OWN my own business. It’s also a little surreal to me that I have been in business for almost one whole year now!
Another win for me was my new branding and website. Although I have a degree in graphic design, I chose to take some pressure off my shoulders (because I’m way too hard on myself and would never be satisfied if I designed my brand myself) and I hired a designer to create my logo and brand. She did an absolutely amazing job and I absolutely love what she did for me. Once that was complete, I finally re-designed my website to match and although I have changed it several times, I’m at a point where I am very happy with it.
Next on my list of wins this year was graduating from Meredith College with my degree in graphic design. My last semester was already tough, with all my senior design classes, but going fully online after spring break made things incredibly difficult. I made it through though and I graduated (In my brothers house, because you know … Covid messed up the original graduation plans).
Celebrating five in September years of dating with Trent was also one of my favorite moments this year. We had the pleasure of having our portraits taken prior to our anniversary and they are some of my favorites. We also took some self portraits for Halloween and I still love those. You can see our pumpkin head photos if you scroll down.
I also enjoyed having my first indoor branding experience and all the beautiful photos I got. The Cannon Room in Downton Raleigh was so beautiful and made for amazing portraits.
More of a personal high this year was becoming an Aunt to sweet little Landrey. She’s only a month old but already so sweet and so cute and I can’t wait to see her grow more in 2021.
Lastly, was all the weddings that I got to photograph and help photograph this year. Its makes me so happy to have had so many great opportunities and serve so many sweet brides I’ve served. this year. I look forward to all the couples I get to serve in 2020. I hope to surpass the amount of weddings I photographed this year and grow so much next year.
Looking back, there is so much to be thankful for this year. Looking forward there is so much to be excited for. I just hope that 2021 can be a great year filled with lots of memories, love, and good times.
